Intercultural Youth Work: Spain youth exchange:

The centre’s Intercultural group alongside young people from Italy and Albania recently participated in a youth exchange project, near Pamplona, in the Basque region of Spain.  Facilitated and led by a group of young people in Spain, alongside active input from  48 young people, from  representing countries, the exchange project provided a unique opportunity to explore gender stereotypes and identify actions that can be implemented to bring about gender equality across Europe.  Through the use of innovative learning tools including flash mobs and drama, with a strong emphasis upon informal and experiential education, the 10 day experience allowed the exploration of learning about cultures, stereotypes and equality within a unique environment.  The slideshow below provides an insight into this experience alongside some popular music choices from young people.  For more information on the Intercultural work of the centre, contact Emma at the centre: emma@jackkanecommunity.org
